I had the chance to attend The Magic of Jack O’Lanterns at the South Coast Botanic Garden in Palos Verdes, California. Walking through a sea of hand-carved pumpkins was truly magical. Some of the carvings were incredibly intricate—I didn’t even realize every single design was carved by hand! It’s definitely something to admire, especially for art enthusiasts.
Beyond the pumpkin trail, there was a food area, a kids’ section with bounce houses, and a merch shop. One highlight was an animatronic pumpkin that pops out from a little “house”—it was surprisingly entertaining!

Overall, it’s a fun experience for the whole family. A couple of tips: wear comfortable shoes, as the trail is about a mile long and the path isn’t completely smooth. Parking offsite and taking the shuttle is the easiest way in, and since the area is dark, be extra careful while walking around.
